When you don’t have a yearly calendar that your whole team is aware of, you can end up with things like back-to-back VBS and church-wide serving week. By laying out your entire year, you can ensure your volunteers don’t get burned out and give each event the space and time it needs to be successful.
Higher Event Participation
People are busy. It’s an unfortunate fact of our culture. By planning your events for the whole year, you can give your people plenty of time to plan around events they’d like to attend.
Aligning with Your Mission & Vision
By planning for the year, you see the bigger picture behind your events. Maybe your vision revolves around serving kids, but you only have one kids event. Each event must have a purpose that points back to your church’s mission and vision.
Better Discipleship
Imagine someone goes to your church who recently accepted Christ. They’re on the fence about baptism, so they never speak up and ask to be baptized. Now, imagine you planned out baptisms for the whole year, and they find a date that works for them. By creating an easy on-ramp through your calendar, someone who may have fallen through the cracks has now taken a HUGE step forward in their discipleship journey!
